Samsung Galaxy S DUOS
Got this phone about five days now,did not want to make a review until i played with it a bit. I
must say, if i loved this phone anymore i would have to leave my wife
and marry it...well joking there a bit, lol, buy i do love it. Only
reason i gave it four stars is some minor things, like the flimsy
looking charger cable, looks real tiny as if it will soon break and the
white headset for a black phone. My last phone was the bb 9860, got
this instead as i wanted a dual sim with android and led flash and been
able to work as a remote for my smart tv, so far i love it and would buy
another if anything happened to it. It does take a little time to
get used to and if you are impatient you may not like it at first as it
has so many features and different ways of doing things. Great phone.

These apps can really turn your Android phone into a stronger and more helpful device. Surely, you wouldn't want to miss that opportunity? In a way, it would be very surprising if a run-of-the-mill compass app was on this list. Well, it's not and this Android app is far more than a mere tool to tell you which way is north. To name a few of the features this app brings to the table will be enough to sell most on the idea that it's a practical, handy app to have on their Android phone. Essentially this is a half compass, half GPS Android app. It tells you the direction, but it also tells you the speed at which you're traveling, the exact coordinates of your location and more things that can be used for fun or to potentially save your life if you're trapped somewhere.

Basically, it takes your phone to entirely new level and texting dimension. Trust me, when you've used this app for a while, you'll wonder how you lived without it for so long!
Facebook
I really shouldn't have to say a single word about this app. I do feel it's necessary to say that it's the *Official Facebook App for Android*. Enough said!
Ringdroid
Perhaps one of the most hands-on free Android apps, Ringdroid allows you to edit various audio files so you can create your own ringtones and alarms. Tired of editing songs to create your own ringtone? Well, they've thought of that too! You can create ringtones for your Android phone from scratch as well (using the Ringdroid app on your phone).

Probably not the most useful on this list, but it's definitely one of the most interesting. The Google Sky Map is exactly that: a planetarium right inside your Android phone. What's more? No need to say more than it's a Google program!

You wouldn't know it from this app's name, but Astro File Manager is among the top most popular free Android apps. It is a task manager and among Android's best one at that. You will be able to manage files, read and open.zip files, send files, backup applications and much more with this amazing app.
Barcode Scanner
Perhaps one of the most ingenious free Android apps on this list, this bar code scanner app lets you access prices, reviews, and other related files by scanning the barcodes on various items in stores and elsewhere. Most importantly for Android phone users, it will easily decode the QR Codes attached to Android apps that you find all over many of the Android websites online. Just download this free app, click the icon and take a quick snapshot of an app's QR Code. Next thing you know, you'll be at the Android Market again, but this time at that app's info and download page!
Shazam
Everyone loves music; well most of us love it. I'm guessing if you haven't heard of Shazam and what it does by now, you're probably part of the minority. If that's the case, this app will nearly instantly identify songs playing, even in noisy environments. That's the core of Shazam, but luckily for all of us, it's spawned into much more than that! You'll just have to download it (for free) to see all of the possibilities!

Android Tablets: How To Choose The Best Android Tablet
Android tablets are sleek, cool and very hot property right now! In just a couple of years they went from nowhere to a big challenger to PC and laptop sales, mainly thanks to Apple's revolutionary iPad.
What Apple did was saw a gap in the market based upon peoples' computer usage. They saw a trend heading towards computers that were aimed simply at content consumption, content being music, video, internet, games and news. Bearing in mind these needs, tablets were born!
A tablet PC is a flat screen PC that looks similar to a laptop's screen. You'll notice that there is no keyboard! In fact, tablets are PCs but without many of the components that make up a traditional computer such as keyboard, heavy battery, fans and mouse or touchpad. In order to check media, internet and the news tablets just need a touchscreen, this makes them cheaper and more lightweight than a big laptop.
But with so many tablets on the market how do you choose the best android tablet? There are a few important points to consider, namely your needs, the screen size and type and cost of the device:
Your needs: If you are a heavy internet browser and are getting fed up with your power-hungry laptop always running out of batteries while you're in the middle of reading a cool blog, then a tablet is for you. If you love watching movies and listening to music while you're out, but don't need to do other work, then a tablet is for you. If you want constant access to your emails and the world online then a tablet is for you. However, if you're planning on doing a lot of work and having loads of documents, spreadsheets and web browser windows at the same time, then the superior horsepower afforded by a laptop would probably be beneficial.
Screen size: There are several different screen sizes available for tablets, ranging from a pocket-sized 5 inches up to a larger 10 inches. The smaller the tablet, the more portable it becomes, but with every inch you drop you are sacrificing potential viewing pleasure as it will become harder to see pages and films. If you're a heavy video consumer then you might want to invest in the largest possible size of touchscreen tablet which is currently around 10 inches.
Tablet type: Most of the big name brands have now released tablets and they are all of the highest possible specification, but that comes at a high cost too. Did you know that if you're prepared to lose the name tag you could save a lot of money by getting a non-name tablet which could be hundreds of dollars cheaper?
Tablet cost: Non-name tablets start from less than 200 dollars which is ridiculously low for new technology, but you can pay more than 600 dollars for the biggest names like Apple. Either way, you'll find that tablets are cheaper than other PCs since you're not paying for extra hardware such as a keyboard and motherboard with fans.
High price tablets are easy to find in any large household name store, but if you are a canny shopper you'll check online where you can find the cheaper non-name versions. Just search online for an Android tablet - it's that simple to save a load of cash!

The concept of tethering Android tablets or your touch screen tablet to your cell phone offers a number of advantages and improves the versatility of the device. Tethering is convenient and once again stretches the capabilities of everyday technology to make our lives easier than ever.
What does it actually mean to "tether" one mobile device to another? And why would we even care about doing this? Before digging a bit deeper into the advantages of tethering your Android tablet to your smart phone, let's look at the commonly accepted definition for tethering so that we are all on the same wavelength.
According to Wikipedia: "Tethering is the use of a mobile device such as a mobile phone to supply internet access for another device which is otherwise unconnected, using the mobile device as a modem. This can be done through Bluetooth wireless technology or cables (such as USB)." Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tethering
It is easy to see why tethering would be of use to us. Tethering allows you to connect your Android tablet to the internet via your cell phone's built in 3G connection. The recent explosion of the touch screen tablet craze, tethering gives us the ability to save money and hassle by not paying for monthly internet subscriptions for all of our devices. Tethering makes for the most cost effective use of a smart phone.
Tethering Android tablets to a smart phone is useful in emergencies when one needs reliable, fast online access and the nearby Wi-Fi connection is weak or non-existent. Tethering an Android touch screen tablet to a smart phone is great for business people who travel frequently or find themselves needing internet access in normally inconvenient situations. Tethering can bail one out of emergency situations if the internet connection at home is down.
Another advantage to tethering is that it is an ideal option for those who don't like the potential security issues of public Wi-Fi. Tethering is much more secure and allows complete privacy when handling confidential work or other files.
With all the tethering software available and the easy, widespread use of Android, tethering is a very viable option indeed as there is plenty of support in case difficulties arise. Tethering is definitely the next step in advancing smart phone and internet tablet technology. Tethering proves that the way we access the internet expands and gets better each and every day.
